Photopolus (rhymes with metropolis) is a team of photograph enthusiasts, camera gangsters & photography nerds. We are fine art photographers, photojournalists, commercial photographers and weekend drive-by shooters. But the common thread between us is that we love the stuffins out of photography. Photopolus wants to keep you up to date on local shutterbug events, happenings and stories, photo field trips, the latest scoop on new camera gear and product reviews, and snapshot project ideas; focusing on the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and beyond.
If you have any questions or feedback, shoot us a line! We absolutely LOVE hearing from our readers and fellow camera nerds – info@photopolus.com

This may quickly become my favorite website! It is wonderful to check out other photographers’ creative experiments. Sharing techniques and styles in such an intimate forum allows us to expand as artists, plunging into even more expressive works of our own. You have even given me refreshed appreciation for some of my past works. Thanks for the nudge!

I’m an artist living in Dallas and have recently inherited quite a few very old bw negatives. They need to be cleaned and I’d like to have contact sheets and then some prints made.
In the interest of supporting local independent folks, I thought this would be a good place to find someone who does this kind of work. I don’t have a deadline or anything, so it’s work that could be done at your pace.
Please contact me if you are interested.
Thanks much,
Cheryl Baker

I like this! A place for North Texas shooters to showcase new work. Great idea to include everyone- there’s a little bit of artist in all of us.

Just came across your site. How do I help, participate, join, etc.
Also interested in posting images, submitting work for juried shows, etc., but did not come across an application process (not enough computer, blog, site savvy).
Thanks, David

Hi there,
I love your site and have a question – hope you’ll allow me to post.
I’ve loved photography forever, but am just getting started. About to purchase my first digital SLR and am thinking about the Nikon D5000 or the Cannon 500D. Any advice? Help!
