photojojo I am holding in my hot little hands, a copy of photojojo’s new book, with its catchy little name, “insanely great projects and DIY ideas.” Lucky me! We all know how fun photojojo ideas are, and if you don’t, now is the time for you to go find out for yourself. The book features some familiar projects you will recognize from the website, but also some great new stuff. My favorites are photo silhouette prints, which teaches readers how to screen print their photos, the photo lampshades, and the Instant book. I’m sure you’ll want to run straight out and purchase yourself a copy too.

If you haven’t heard by now, photopol.us is working on a line of our own handmade products like zines and custom camera straps. Prototypes are in the making, so stay tuned! Forgive the short post, I’m off to finish reading my book!

So I’ve been drooling over the Nikon D90 for sometime now, and my husband decided to surprise me with one a couple of weeks before my birthday. I was so excited that I almost forgot to ask him where he bought it. Much to my chagrin, his answer was Best Buy. Despite this, I at least had the peace of mind that the quality would be the same no matter where it was purchased.

Fast forward three weeks, and I wanted to pick up a couple of filters and some accessories. We walked into Competitive Camera and Ramsey helped us. He took the time to demonstrate the differences in quality of the various UV filters, and made sure to ask where we bought the camera. I of course looked immediately to my husband for him to answer. I was dreading the response we would get when he admitted his big box purchase. But we were both very surprised when he took out his card, wrote the price of the Nikon D90 at his store on the back, and explained that if we took that to Best Buy, they would reimburse us $100 price difference.

A word to the D90-seeking wise… $1150 at Competitive Camera and $1250 at Best Buy. Not to mention that they offer service and maintenance on all camera purchases, for extended  time after the purchase. Ramsey and the boys will keep you informed and on top of your game, without as much as a judgemental blink. Competitive Cameras is located at 2025 Irving Blvd. #107 – Dallas, Texas 75207.
