We hope to see you, this show promises to be really fun!
Here’s how it works, when you arrive and if you’d like to purchase art, you can draw a number for $20, then you match up that number with the corresponding print on exhibit.
get there early because we may sell out of numbers before the night is over.
this exhibit and project is close to our hearts because it benefits the kids Ange has been working with this summer as part of the Food on the Move program with Americorps & Central Dallas Ministries. (watch the video below and turn up your volume)

The Hip Shootout: The Hipstas vs the Droids is TONIGHT *(and one night only) at the UTD Visual Arts Gallery

A très bon good time was had by the close to 1500 (!!!) attendees and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
News of the event apparently spread like a fever all the way to Fort Worth.
Congratz to David, chef-tel extraordinaire and winner of the mussel cook off contest – they were fabulous!
A very special thanks to our fine Frenchie friends at La Reunion for braving the heat and being our fun & fantastic sidekicks.
It was a great celebration of France in Bishop Arts. We <3 Oak Cliff.

@Ange Fitzgerald

Andrea & I had a blast with Donna leading the Hipsta Workshop at UTD yesterday. Our students were fantastic and captured some amazing shots as we photo field tripped around campus during the second half of both sessions of the class.

We hope you’ll join us as we show off the results and demonstrate with brilliant visuals exactly what you can achieve with your camera phone.

All camera phone nerds & gangstas are invited to submit images taken with their cell phone to be considered for the Hip Shootout, a one night only exhibit held at the Visual Arts Gallery, University of Texas – Dallas on July 31 from 6-9:30pm.

Submission deadline is July 26 so you’ve still got a week to get your favorite phone shots printed and mailed in for the show. For details, please email donna@donnaharriscompany.com

Erykah Badu to Host “Feel and Fill” Event
For New Art and Artists Venue in South Dallas

DALLAS, TX – Dallasite and Grammy-Award winning vocalist Erykah Badu will participate in a fundraising and community awareness event for The SPACE, a new art venue located in South Dallas at 2120 S. Ervay in the Cedars community. “Feel and Fill” will take place Saturday, December 5, 2009, from 3 pm to 6 pm and will include an open exhibit of art from various area visual artists, in addition to performances from area musicians, spoken word artists, and actors. Badu will help create an original “community art piece” with those who attend. She has long been a huge advocate for positive programming in the South Dallas area in which she grew up.

“Feel and Fill” is an opportunity for St. Philip’s to debut this versatile and much needed art space to the community that can be used as a studio and for performances. Art classes and African drumming classes are currently held in The SPACE.

The SPACE or St. Philip’s Arts in the Community Experience exists to provide a low cost venue for artists within the southern sector of Dallas. The building was donated to St. Philip’s School and Community Center and will enable this organization, which has had a dynamic presence in South Dallas for over fifty years, to expand its programming.

“Our dream is to make The SPACE a haven for young and emerging artists of all genres,” says Dr. Terry J. Flowers, Executive Director/Headmaster of St. Philip’s School and Community Center. “For years we have provided an exemplary education and social services to the community and we are excited to offer yet another opportunity for children, youth, and adults to experience something positive and transformative.”

also, Ange & Andrea will be at C3 this weekend, they hope to see you there, too.
