Hey Camera Campers!
We installed the show last night (with lots of help from our friends, THANKS Dave, Frank & Aaron!) and we couldn’t be happier about how amazing it looks.
Our charming merch (it has lots of character) will be onsite at the opening Saturday night so all you camera gangsters and photography nerds can stock up on our hand screened photopolus tshirts, messenger bags and custom shooter straps!

First round of judges to be announced next week!!
Photopolus & NOVA present CRAVE…get your art fix.

Photopolus is calling all ARTISTS and inviting you to apply to exhibit and sell your work in our NEW monthly outdoor art installation at the amazing, but not-yet-opened, NOVA.
We are pleased to partner with the team at NOVA to present a fantastic monthly exhibit showcasing local ART & MUSIC.
The very first CRAVE Art&Music Festival will coincide with the 2nd Annual Oak Cliff Art Crawl! As many of you may remember, the first OCAC was a huge success and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever.
We are accepting submissions from all ARTISTS, inviting MUSICIANS to apply to the fest and also accepting applications from select ART VENDORS.
More than anything else, we are excited about this opportunity to celebrate our creative community on a regular basis and are very much looking forward to seeing YOU at the first show.
The submission format has changed from last year’s OCAC. We will be featuring a monthly juried exhibition and OUTDOOR installation.
Your $25 submission fee allows you to present for consideration to the CRAVE Jury up to 3 pieces / jpgs of your original work that you either presently have ready to show or plan to build out for the festival.
Our jury reviews all work anonymously. That’s right, our jurors won’t have a clue whose work they are reviewing.
All mediums are accepted.
Since this is a monthly exhibit, we will be accepting submissions through June 15, 2010.
However, the sooner you submit, the sooner you could potentially showcase your work so don’t wait!
We are happy to announce that CRAVE Art&Music Festival will occur every 2nd Sunday beginning April 11th, 2010.
Submit your applications here. All entries must include 1 to 3 jpgs at least 640 pixels wide.
Vendors and Musicians:
We are also accepting ten art vendors each month, who will be guaranteed a spot for $100.
*please note, if you purchase a vendor booth, you must be present (or have trained staff present) for the duration of the event to sell your work/products. If you wish to participate as a vendor or a band, please email info@photopolus.com. NOTE: Bands need only pay a $25 submission fee, and will be assigned a 30 minute time slot upon acceptance to the festival.
CRAVE Jury:

Erykah Badu to Host “Feel and Fill” Event
For New Art and Artists Venue in South Dallas
DALLAS, TX – Dallasite and Grammy-Award winning vocalist Erykah Badu will participate in a fundraising and community awareness event for The SPACE, a new art venue located in South Dallas at 2120 S. Ervay in the Cedars community. “Feel and Fill” will take place Saturday, December 5, 2009, from 3 pm to 6 pm and will include an open exhibit of art from various area visual artists, in addition to performances from area musicians, spoken word artists, and actors. Badu will help create an original “community art piece” with those who attend. She has long been a huge advocate for positive programming in the South Dallas area in which she grew up.
“Feel and Fill” is an opportunity for St. Philip’s to debut this versatile and much needed art space to the community that can be used as a studio and for performances. Art classes and African drumming classes are currently held in The SPACE.
The SPACE or St. Philip’s Arts in the Community Experience exists to provide a low cost venue for artists within the southern sector of Dallas. The building was donated to St. Philip’s School and Community Center and will enable this organization, which has had a dynamic presence in South Dallas for over fifty years, to expand its programming.
“Our dream is to make The SPACE a haven for young and emerging artists of all genres,” says Dr. Terry J. Flowers, Executive Director/Headmaster of St. Philip’s School and Community Center. “For years we have provided an exemplary education and social services to the community and we are excited to offer yet another opportunity for children, youth, and adults to experience something positive and transformative.”
also, Ange & Andrea will be at C3 this weekend, they hope to see you there, too.
